Scholarship Incentives

Scholarship is so important to Phi Kappa Sigma that we have introduced multiple scholarship incentive programs. We have implemented a "Grade Point League" that splits the chapter into multiple teams based on previous academic achievement and major (whatever allows the most benefit and fairest teams each semester). Each team competes for the best semester GPA, and the winning team receives a monetary prize. This jackpot is expected to go up each semester as we accumulate members and more people enter in the competition.

I will strive for academic excellence and encourage it in my brothers"
Membership Expectation

We have also started a seminar program so that each member can talk about interesting topics in their respective fields of study. They have a chance each week to explain to the other members what it is they do and why they enjoy studying their major.

Next semester we plan on having an effective tutoring system within the fraternity and will encourage our members to be tutors and get tutors outside of the fraternity as well. This will help our members to achieve their goals each year and give us a chance to be active within our fields of study even more. We have study hours in the library/ERC from 8:00pm-10:00pm every day from Sunday to Thursday. Every member meets there for at least four hours each week.

3. Carebears
4. Power Rangers

Purpose

Encourage healthy competition amongst members to help raise grades. Develop study groups that you can use to do better in classes.

Rules

This semester there will be teams of 3. In the first week, teams may trade team members and settle down on a team that you feel fits better than the assigned one. I've tried to make the teams fair and get the classes lined up, but there is obviously overlap between more than 3 people sometimes and other times no overlap of classes at all. We will have the usual study hours from 8-10, but if you want to do your 4 hours for the week at a different time with your team, do it! The GPAs will be averaged, the highest GPA team wins.
